Elderly Instruments Customer’s Q&A
Elderly Instruments FAQs
About elderly.com Prices and Cost?
"Elderly.com" is a music store specializing in new, used, and vintage musical instruments. The website offers a wide range of instruments including acoustic guitars, electric guitars, banjos, mandolins, ukuleles, basses, and more. The prices for these instruments can vary widely. For instance, the prices for Martin Custom Shop guitars, a specific category of guitars available on the website, can range from $2,500 to over $50,000. The final cost of a custom guitar depends on the specific nature of the proposed instrument. Every specification change will have an impact on pricing. The higher the style number for the base model, the higher the price. Adding pearl or other inlay will increase the price and the type of wood can also significantly impact the overall cost of a custom guitar. It's important to note that these prices are subject to change and it's recommended to check the website for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
What is the most expensive instrument on Elderly.com?
The most expensive instrument on Elderly.com is a 1963 Gibson Explorer, marked at $218,000. This guitar is considered a rare historical oddity, which contributes to its high price. The Gibson Explorer was introduced in 1958 and discontinued in 1963, making the original models incredibly valuable. This particular Explorer was partially constructed in 1959 but wasn't finished until 1963. Its value is also enhanced by its custom ordered Bigsby vibrato tailpiece. Despite its initial lack of success, the Gibson Explorer has become one of the most desired instruments among musicians today.
